The Garden Revisited (Again.) :P

So I was doing some work today. And then I wanted to take a break after 3 hours of straight hardcore buckling down. So I decided to sift through some of the photos from the first photoshoot I had ever done in the botanical gardens back in June. You can see a slew of unedited ones here and a small set of processed ones with text here. And then I decided to process some of those untouched photos.

I'm not sure why I liked this last photo. I think its because half the petals are in focus and the other half are blurry, and the lines on the many leaves behind it make a lovely design. Perhaps I should crop out the pink petals peeking out of the top and bottom of the picture but I dislike cropping for some reason.
All this work has been forcing me to leave (Eric's) camera all lonely and abandoned :( Which makes me sad because it is totally an outlet for my creative juices. Sighs.
Eric needed his dslr back for a wedding he was shooting, so until he's done processing all those pictures, maybe I'll gather up the courage to whip out his film camera that he let me borrow. (Nuts, right?) He said the lens isn't very good on that one but honestly, I don't really care. Its the fun of shooting and processing really makes me excited. Plus I always like a challenge! :P All the harder I'll try to create something interesting...right? If all else fails...I still have Eric's trusty P&S.
I really need to get my own gear. (Sorry Eric!) Or maybe I'll buy a sick lens that Eric and I can both use instead of a whole 'nother body. Hmm....
On another note, I feel like I'm running out of subjects to snap.
Maybe I'll start doing some self-set up/ designed still life pictures, since all of my photographs are caught by chance.

Eric.

This is my boyfriend Eric. I really, really, really, really like him. Alot.
He is the sweetest man alive.
This photo is not the best but its the only picture of Eric looking at the camera that I've been able to snap. Looking at this photo, I distinctly remember the thoughts running through my head as I took this. Eric was in the process of telling me how he proposed to the girl he is pointing to in the photo when they were little kids, and jokingly asked if I was jealous of her. I remember smiling at him in response while taking this shot and thinking...
"nope."
:) kiss!
He also wont let me take pictures of his handsomeness :(

Tea.

Tried a different style of processing on this picture. Hm not sure what I would have done to make this photo more interesting. Anyways, I have to catch up on my blog! I've only posted about 5 posts in the whole month of July so far. Ugh busy schedule is getting in my way...but doing my best to keep my smile on :)

Breakfast at Tiffany's....no seriously.

Breakfast this morning :) I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon, so I'm spending the day at home. I wish I could wake up every morning like this and take pictures at this hour.
Odd, I really like that random spot of bokeh.

Two face.

The computer that I usually use to paste my photos into one large image is stuck in a car 40 minutes away, so I guess I'll have to deal with the ugly giant spaces in between the pictures. I NEVER take pictures of myself and I'm usually a gal who prefers to be invisible (especially to the blogosphere), but I decided that it was kind of ok to show (half) my face on this blog, since Eric and Stephie are the ONLY two people who are aware of this blog. So, here I am. With two different types of processing, and a flowery photo to go along with it.

thelovedove can only get away with picture like this if I'm 21 and no one sees this.
Right?

I wouldn't be surprised if I had to take a million pictures of myself like this to gain acceptance and be considered "cool and popular" these days. Which is why those people suck. Maybe this is why I'm always loner. Or it could be my self-defensive standoffish personality. Hah.

Foto Fun.

Feeling gray these past couple days/weeks.
Taking pictures is an instant pick me up for these gloomy days.
The top two photos are the obviously the same picture, except different editing.
(Or what do they call it...processing?)
I usually lean towards the one on the right.
Bottom pictures: I played with film grain effects on these haha
The left photo has dark grain, the right has light grain.

Cliche and tacky?

I've always been bothered by the large lines of white space in between the pictures in this blog, but I was always too lax about it to resize, copy, and paste each photo into some sort of image editing document. But, since I was feeling extra experimental last night, I put some text on the photos I had never edited from my Botanical Gardens post and sized and fitted each photo into one gigantic picture. Stephie thinks that the text looks tacky on my pictures...hmm maybe so. Also, Courier New is cramping my style these days, but its the only available font that doesn't seem to look hideous or boring. I think a blog revamping is in order. I always use a simple white background color and gray text (in my many, many, many old blogs :P), maybe I should try something new? Eh...we'll see about that.  I also think the images are too large.
Eric, I need your opinion too! :D Life changing decisions here!
